THE FLAVORS OF NEW ORLEANS ARE AS DEEP & RICH AS IT’S HISTORY & CULTURE

Named after the 7th ward of New Orleans, an area of the city well known for it’s Creole heritage and history and the “more than just dinner” spirit of classic supper clubs, the Seventh Ward Supper Club aims to give guests an experience they will remember, full of bold flavors, storytelling, a touch of nostalgia, and a level of openness and warm hospitality that will make you feel like you’re enjoying a one of a kind meal among friends.

The Seventh Ward Supper Club is the next culinary chapter from New Orleans born Creole chef Matt Pace (formerly of Elysianne) in his pursuit of bringing Creole cuisine into the international fine dining world, educating and entertaining guests with stories and the history of the flavors and dishes of Louisiana Creole cuisine, and adding something unique to the dining landscape of Amsterdam.

From the Chef

A smiling chef with a beard and tattoos on his arms, wearing a New Orleans Saints cap, sits at a dining table with wine glasses, a small plate of food, and a white bowl, with a gold patterned wallpaper background.

Although a chef by title, chef Matt is not (just) a chef, he’s a cultural artist, culinary storyteller, and New Orleans culture ambassador.

“I’ve always been an artist, whether it be the painting, drawing, or sculpting that I did as a kid and eventually earned a university degree in, to later creating music for a time, I’ve looked at the world and how I interact with it through a creative lens. Nowadays, food is the medium I use to say what I want to say, tell the stories I want and feel should be told, express the love and passion I have for my heritage, and share pieces of myself with those interested.

I’m very proud of my Creole heritage and want to share the things about it that warm my heart and soul; from personal history and connection, to the overall history and way of life of the city of New Orleans.”
